Voyage 2025 Organized by Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) In Association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Of OmDayal Group of Institutions.
11th & 12th April, 2025 OmDayal Group of Institutions, Uluberia Industrial Growth Centre, Howrah
Creativity, Innovation and Research lie at the heart of every scientific invention. Inventions, propelled by imaginative ideation and prudent execution, are manifestations of the talent possessed by students, and the education received by them. VOYAGE, 2025, (held on 11th and 12th of April), the technology fest, organised by the IQAC and the Institutions’ Innovation Council (IIC), OmDayal Group of Institutions (College of Engineering and Architecture, Affiliated to MAKAUT, accredited by NAAC, and approved by the AICTE and the COA), was a celebration of the unique talent of its students, and a platform for them to showcase their inventions in front of an objective audience. The odyssey of VOYAGE in the path of academic and professional excellence began in the year 2016. According to the principal, Prof. Yogesh Kumar Sinha, the primary objective of the tech fest is “To provide students with a platform to execute their thoughts and ideas, while learning the empirical methods of engineering science, and to inculcate in students the spirit of learning through collaboration and teamwork.” Keeping this spirit in mind, the college authorities not only involved its own students from seven departments (Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Basic Science and Humanities, Architecture and Management), but also extended an invitation to students of sixteen other reputed institutions to participate in the fest with their own inventions and enrich it with their respective innovations.

Apart from the participating schools, including Shibpur Bhabani Balika Vidyalaya, Bagnan Boys High School, Tara Sundari Balika Vidyabhawan, Bagnan Adarsha Balika Vidyalaya, Bagnan Girls’ High School, Shibpur B.E College Model School, Howrah Vivekananda Institution, the fest also witnessed the presence of dignitaries from various engineering sectors and industries, including Mr. Raj Ray, the CEO and CTO of Adyakshar Labs, who meticulously observed and analysed every project exhibited by students, and enlightened the students with valuable suggestions and feedback. Some of the most innovative models, from among a total of eighteen, built by students were,

the ‘Emotion-driven Music Player’ by the Computer Science and Engineering Department, the ‘Sustainable Dynamic Conch-shaped Building’, by the Civil Engineering Department, the ‘Compact Wind Power Generator’ by the Mechanical Engineering Department, the ‘High Accuracy Motor Protection Module’ by the Electrical Engineering Department, and a ‘Smart Home Automation’ by the Department of Science and Humanities.
Let us have a detailed look at the projects which were displayed during the tech-fest.
Department of Computer Science & Engineering/ AI & ML
The Climb Craze: A hand-gesture automation game
Emotion-Driven Music Player
SecuredNest System using Face detection & Institutions Chatbot
Real time Smart Attendance and location tracking App
Mobile App development
The Smart Attendance System Using Face Recognition is a mobile application that automates attendance-taking using facial recognition technology. It eliminates the need for manual attendance-taking, which is time-consuming and prone to errors. It also detected the college uniform and all data collect in excel a sheet .This system enables the recognition of a person’s identity using a camera and compares it with the database to record attendance.Smart Health Care
Divyang Haat-Ghadee using IoT
IOT
This is an innovative IOT project where a wearable device can address alert such as “taking medicine”, “drink water”, “wash hand”, and “abnormal pulse” in the form of various modes of actions such as blinking lights or beeping sounds or generating vibrations. This mode of action will help to pass the necessary information to those people who cannot see, hear, and speak.Sign language in speech conversion System for communicate on and visually disabilities
Hand Cricket
Machine Learning
This project presents an innovative approach to hand cricket using Python, incorporating hand gesture recognition to facilitate interactive gameplay. Leveraging computer vision and machine learning technologies, the system detects and interprets hand gestures to capture player inputs, eliminating the need for physical controllers.CLI Desk Environment
Operating System
CLI Desk Environment” is a command-line interface (CLI) tool designed to emulate a desktop environment within a terminal using tmux. It provides an interactive launcher, a customizable panel, and seamless integration with tmux to manage programs, windows, and panes efficiently. Whether you’re a power user who loves the terminal or someone transitioning from a graphical desktop, this project brings a familiar desktop-like feel to the CLI.Optimized Exam Scheduling Using Genetic Algorithm
Genetic Algorithm
This project is a complete web-based application that efficiently generates conflict-free exam timetables for educational institutions. Traditional scheduling methods are time-consuming and error-prone, struggling with constraints like student course clashes, faculty availability, and time slot balancing. Using a Genetic Algorithm (GA), our system optimizes schedules by evolving solutions over iterations, minimizing conflicts through selection, crossover, and mutation.Waste Segregator using Arduino
IOT
The Waste Segregator using Arduino is an IoT-based smart system that automatically sorts waste into three categories: wet, dry, and metallic. It uses sensors to detect the type of waste and a microcontroller (Arduino) to process the data. A servo-controlled mechanism then directs the waste into the appropriate bin. The metallic waste is detected using an inductive sensor, while moisture sensors help classify wet and dry waste.Air quality monitoring system
IOT+ Android
An air quality monitoring system is a system that measures temperature, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, humidity and moisture. We use three sensors in MQ7, MQ8 , DHT 11. MQ7 sensor detect carbon monoxide, MQ8 sensor detects hydrogen, DHT11 sensor detect temperature and humidity. We developed an app and with this app we see how much temperature, humidity, hydrogen, carbon monoxide.Department of Electrical Engineering
Tech Fest is a buzz in the Electrical Engineering Department as it is in the college. It brought tech enthusiasts and brilliant tech minds of our departments together to carve a niche to show expertise, creativity and innovations. Our departmental students presented a total of seven eye-catching projects which are listed below:
Hardware Prototyping of Real Time Satellite Tracker
GSM Based Prepaid Energy Meter for Home Automation
Wireless Solar based Electric Trans-vehicle Charging System
Precision Custom Controlled and Mobile Based Real Time Monitoring and Protection of Electrical Loads
Electricity Generation from Waste Vegetables
IoT based Smart Transformer Safety Device
Bridge and Railway Track Health Monitoring System
